Next Generation of multi touch keyboards
Technology has advanced so much in the last few years, that it’s almost impossible to keep track of all the thing going around, and i like gadgets you may call me gadget freak cause i have quite a lot of gadgets play with them for some time and then i just put them in some corner to pickup dust, anyways i was surfing around kickstarter and found something interesting at least for me. This multi touch glass keyboard and mouse are next generation of computer peripherals.
Red glass touch works well makes it easy for users to remove cleanly, and made with a solid base metals as well as a good component. The Keyboard has a base metal and the button that is printed on the back of the glass They designed using simple technologies that already exist and have no moving parts. They are using Lithium Rechargeable batteries and they are completely wireless.
The software it uses for controlling mouse and keyboard is completely open source i couldn’t believe it at first but in order to realise what potential this keyboard and mouse have you need to fill few great ideas together to come up with something like this. Imagine that you can use your mouse and keyboard like you use them on your ipad or any tablet to zoom in or zoom out or do some other fancy stuff, that would be great wouldn’t it?
The design is based on a touch screen technology known as FTIR or Frustrated Total Internal Reflection. There are basically infrared LEDs placed at the edge of the glass. In this case, they are hidden inside holes where the glass is mounted to the metal base. Because of the low angle at which the light impacts the internal glass surface, it is bounced around inside the glass, much like looking through a tube to see the reflections on the inside walls.
